What are plasterboard fixings used for?
Plasterboard fixings are designed for use with plaster boards and dry walls. They are a means of securely fixing items to plasterboard, taking into account the specific properties and challenges associated with dry walls and plasterboard.
What are plasterboard fixings made from?
Plasterboard fixings are made and supplied from Fusion Fixings in various materials, with specifically designed features to ensure secure fixings into plasterboard. Deep threads and expanding elements, all designed for use with plasterboard. Rosett cavity fixings also use collapsible nylon to aid in the fixing to plasterboard. The nylon element to the fixing collapses on the blind side of the plasterboard when the screw is tightened.
Why use plasterboard fixings?
Plasterboard fixings are used primarily because the dry wall / plasterboard is very often too brittle to offer a secure fixing with a traditional screw alone. Additional tension and holding force are needed due the material and its relative thinness. This is especially relevant with slightly heavier items that might need to be attached to plasterboard.
